Son Bou is one of Menorca's quietest family holiday
destinations. It is a picturesque resort
backing onto open countryside, with
freshwater marshes that are home to many
species of birds and protected wildlife. |
|
Son Bou
The
resort faces onto the Mediterranean, and Son Bou has one
of the longest beaches on the island. It is a beautiful
two mile stretch of fine white sands protected by dunes,
with the island of Mallorca on the horizon. At the
western end, near Sant Thomas, there is an area favoured
by nudists! At the eastern end of Son Bou is the
headland Cap de Penyes where you will find caves that
were once used as dwellings. There are also the remains
of an ancient fortified village and a Christian basilica
from the fourth century.
Son Bou Shops, Bars & Nightlife
Although Son Bou has many bars and restaurants, its
nightlife is fairly low key and entertainment is often
hotel or restaurant based. There are no night clubs as
such but there are bars with live entertainment which
normally remain open until the early hours of the
morning and are family orientated.
Son Bou has a number of supermarkets, speciality shops
and designer outlets in the shopping area on the beach
road. There are many craft and gift shops, clothing,
footwear and jewellery shops.
Son Bou has a range of bars and restaurants providing a
good choice of local produce or international menus,
accommodating most tastes. For a more discerning
restaurant experience, Fornells and Mahon will offer a
truly international selection.
